New dean at CBS to develop research, innovation, and societal impact
Morten Frederiksen will play a pivotal role in realizing CBS’ ambitions to strengthen its position as an internationally leading business school.
Morten Frederiksen will assume the role as the new dean for research, innovation, and societal impact at CBS on January 1st. He comes from a position as the dean for Social Sciences at Roskilde University.
“CBS stands as a strong business university, producing research that is highly significant for Denmark’s business sector. The university has an exciting agenda with a particular focus on ensuring that research creates value for society,” says Morten Frederiksen and adds:
“It is an ambition that engages all universities, but I see that CBS possesses a unique potential, and I am keen to help unlock that. There is a lot of exciting research happening, and the focus areas within green transformation, AI, responsible leadership, as well as geopolitics and security are topics that interest me greatly.”
Number one in Business Administration
Morten Frederiksen also emphasizes that research at CBS is of high international standard.
This statement was recently confirmed when CBS, for the second consecutive year, ranked first globally in Business Administration in the ShanghaiRanking, which evaluates 2,500 universities.
Educated sociologist
Morten Frederiksen holds a degree in sociology and a Ph.D. from the University of Copenhagen. As a researcher and research leader at Aalborg University, he focused for several years on norms and values, public administration, and the role of civil society in the welfare state.
Two years ago, he became the dean at Roskilde University, where he is responsible for the university’s social science research and education.
