Øresund Motorway near Copenhagen Airport reopens towards Sweden
The two lanes towards Sweden on the Øresund Motorway near Copenhagen Airport, as well as the exit Lufthavn Ø/Kastrup, will reopen on Saturday, November 29th, around 7:00 a.m.
This information was provided by Sund & Bælt in a press release.
The lanes have been temporarily closed since October 20th as part of the work to expand Copenhagen Airport Station. The expansion is aimed at increasing the capacity on the Øresund Railway, which is currently heavily trafficked, and to accommodate the expected increase in train traffic when the Femern Belt Tunnel opens.
The project, carried out by Sund & Bælt, involves creating two new platforms, improving the existing ones, and a new direct connection from the airport’s Terminal 3 to the upcoming platforms. The work is expected to be completed by the summer of 2026.
