Man Dies During Arrest: Independent Investigation Launched
A 42-year-old man died during an arrest on the night of Saturday.
The police had received a report of disturbances at an address in the Køge area. When the police arrived at the scene, they made contact with a 42-year-old man who became lifeless during the arrest. Subsequently, the man passed away. The next of kin have been notified.
The case is now being investigated by the Independent Police Complaints Authority, as is customary when a person passes away or is seriously injured as a result of police intervention, or while the individual was in police custody. Once the investigation is concluded, the Police Complaints Authority will provide a report on the matter to the State Prosecutor of Copenhagen.
