Severe Weather Warning: Denmark Braces for Heavy Rain, Hail, Thunderstorms, and Strong Winds
Denmark’s Meteorological Institute, DMI, has issued a category 1 warning for severe weather.
There is a warning for heavy rainfall, hail, thunderstorms, and strong gusts of wind for the northern and eastern parts of Jutland, Funen, Zealand, and Bornholm on Monday. For the rest of the country, a risk warning has been issued.
The reason is a cold front that will pass over Denmark from the west on Monday.
The warning for the Copenhagen area and North Zealand is valid from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM. DMI expects thunderstorms and local downpours. Between 15 and 25 mm of rain can fall within 30 minutes. There is also a risk of hail and strong gusts of wind between 15 and 23 m/s.
You can follow the current weather developments at www.dmi.dk.
