33-year-old convicted: Secretly filmed women in their homes

A 33-year-old man from Vejle was convicted on Friday at the Court in Kolding for recording hidden videos of women without their knowledge.

The man was found guilty of filming a total of 15 young women – including five who have been identified – in their private homes during the period from December 2023 to March 5, 2024. The recordings were made by filming through the windows of the women’s residences while he was outside. The women had neither given consent nor were they aware of the recordings.

According to the judgment, the actions constituted a violation of privacy. In several cases, the women were also filmed while naked or wearing underwear, which led to additional convictions for indecent exposure offenses.

The defendant confessed to the charges and was sentenced to 60 days of suspended imprisonment. In addition, he must undergo psychiatric and sexological treatment and be supervised by the Danish Prison and Probation Service for one year. He has also been ordered to pay compensation to two of the identified women.

-“There is a case here where fifteen women have been unlawfully filmed in what should have been their safe space – namely their own home. It is deeply violating when one’s private sphere is breached in that way. I am therefore satisfied that the convicted person is sentenced to both imprisonment and treatment,” said prosecutor Christina Væhrens.
