Eight Young Men Charged with Aggravated Assault – Kicked and Trampled 15-Year-Old

On Tuesday, Fyns Police charged eight young men with aggravated assault in connection with a violent incident in Odense on October 3 this year.

The 15-year-old victim was surrounded in a wooded area in Odense by the eight suspects, who were older than him but close in age. He was kicked and trampled — including blows to the head — and was also struck with a stick.

The assault was filmed, and police have strong suspicions that the video was shared on Snapchat. Further charges may be brought in connection with the distribution of the video.

-“This was a violent, vile, and humiliating act. We have seen this type of ‘Happy Slapping’ before, and it has no place in our society. That’s why we are satisfied that we’ve now identified the perpetrators. It’s important to make clear that such callous actions do not go unpunished,” said Police Commissioner Gitte Hansen of Fyns Police.
