Three young individuals are said to have planned a school shooting at a school in Kolding.

The Southeast Jutland Police stated that they acted in response to a report received on Friday, August 1, regarding the planning of a school shooting, where Sct. Michaels School in Kolding and two specific individuals were mentioned as future targets.

On the same day the report was received, three minors were arrested.

The day after, one of the arrested individuals—a 15-year-old—was brought before a preliminary hearing charged with attempted manslaughter and remanded in custody for 4 weeks. The preliminary hearing was held behind closed doors, and there is a court-ordered anonymity in the case.

The other two suspects are both under the criminal age of responsibility and were released after questioning. The social authorities have been informed.

Deputy Police Inspector Torben Simonsen from the Southeast Jutland Police stated that the police acted promptly on the report.

“The police are investigating the case, which we take very seriously. The police have been in communication with both the suspects and their parents, the victims and their parents, as well as Sct. Michaels School, Kolding Municipality, and the social authorities have been notified. I would like to emphasize that at this point in the investigation, there is no indication of any current and concrete threat to either the school in question or specific individuals,” says Torben Simonsen.

The Southeast Jutland Police reported that the investigation is still in its early stages.
