The two state-owned TV companies, DR and TV2, join forces to celebrate the Queen with a grand show that will be broadcast live on DR1 and TV 2 from Kongens Nytorv in Copenhagen next Friday.

The show, titled  ‘Danmarks dronning – den største tak’  (‘Denmark’s Queen – the Greatest Thanks’) will be hosted by Stéphanie Surrugue and Natasja Crone.

“I think there was a collective shock through Danish homes when the Queen announced her abdication. It was unexpected news for all of us, and everything suddenly happens so quickly. I believe many Danes have a need and desire to express their respect for the Queen. An evening like this can contribute to creating a sense of community and achieving unity in acknowledging that the Queen has carried out her duties in an exemplary manner,” says Natasja Crone.

The event is open to the public and takes place on Friday, January 12, at 7:30 PM, airing live on television.
