A 42-year-old Lithuanian man has been taken into custody, charged with the attempted murder of his former partner.
On the morning of 7 November last year, a 41-year-old woman was found on Strandvejen in Svinninge near Holbæk with serious injuries to her face.
Police quickly determined that the woman’s former partner, a 42-year-old Lithuanian man, could be suspected in the case. However, the man was nowhere to be found, so he was wanted internationally.
Earlier this week, the man was arrested by police in Poland, and on Wednesday he was handed over to Danish police.
On Thursday, the 42-year-old was presented for preliminary questioning at the court in Holbæk, where he was remanded in custody for four weeks.
In addition to attempted murder, the man is also charged with threats and theft against the woman.
The accused denies guilty.
