Recipe: Spaghetti med kødsovs (Spaghetti Bolognese)

It’s not a danish dish, but it’s one of the most loved dishes in Denmark. In danish it’s called “Spaghetti med kødsovs”.

4 servings / 4 persons

Ingredients:

2 onions
1 clove of garlic
2 tbsp. oil for frying
500 g. ground beef
2 tsp. oregano
1/2 tsp. paprika
4 tbsp. tomato paste
Approx. 800 g. chopped tomatoes (2 bricks/cans)
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
400 g. spaghetti
2 tsp. salt
4 tbsp. parmesan

How to:

1. Peel and finely chop the onion and garlic.

2. Heat oil in a saucepan to medium heat. Put the onion and garlic in the pan and sauté them for about 1 minute.

3. Put meat, oregano and bell pepper in the pan. Turn up the heat. Stir in the meat until browned.

4. Add tomato paste and fry for about 1 minute.

5. Put in chopped tomatoes. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Simmer on low heat for 10 minutes.

6. Spaghetti: Put water and salt in a large saucepan. Turn on medium heat and put the lid on. When the water boils, add the spaghetti. Read on the package how long it should boil.

7. Pour the water from the pasta into a colander.

8. Grate the parmesan on the fine side of the grater until you have about 4 tablespoons.

9. Serve your meat sauce with pasta and grated Parmesan.
