Police have charged a 42-year-old man with the murder of a 75-year-old woman.
The man was arrested at 9:44 p.m. on Saturday evening. Shortly before that, the police received a report and arrived at an address in Årslev near Odense, where they found the woman had been killed.
The victim was the 42-year-old man’s mother.
According to Ekstrabladet.dk, during today’s preliminary hearing at the Court in Svendborg, it was revealed that the 42-year-old himself had called 112 (emergency services).
It was also disclosed that the suspect had been connected to the psychiatric system for several years and had been hospitalized for several months.
The 75-year-old woman had been killed with stab wounds to the neck.
The judge decided to grant the prosecution’s request and remand the 42-year-old in custody for a preliminary period of 4 weeks as a surrogate measure.
