19-year-old remanded in custody – charged with attempted murder at music festival
Translate to English: A 19-year-old man has been remanded in custody, charged with attempted murder of a 25-year-old man at the Vig Festival.
On Thursday evening at 10:26 p.m., the police received a report that a stabbing had occurred at the Vig Festival in Odsherred.
A 25-year-old man had been stabbed. He received first aid at the festival area and was then flown by a summoned medical helicopter to Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen for treatment.
Large parts of the festival area were cordoned off for the police’s technical investigations and witness interviews.
The investigation led the police to a 19-year-old man, who was calmly arrested around midnight in the tent area.
“We consider the stabbing between the two male festival participants to be an outgrowth of personal disputes between the two parties,” says Vice Police Inspector Jacob Olsen, who is leading the investigation.
The 25-year-old victim is still hospitalized at Rigshospitalet for necessary treatment but is reported to be in stable condition and not in danger of losing his life.
On Friday, the 19-year-old was brought before a pretrial hearing at the Holbæk Court, charged with attempted murder. The court chose to remand the accused until August 1.
Although the police had contact with many individuals during the evening and night, they still want to hear from witnesses who may have witnessed disputes between two men at the festival grounds.
