The 23-year-old man accused, among other things, of the murder of three individuals at Field’s on July 3rd last year, has been sentenced to indefinite placement at the Secure Unit in Slagelse.

The verdict was delivered this afternoon at the Copenhagen City Court after the 23-year-old was found guilty in accordance with the indictment, including the murder of a 46-year-old man, a 17-year-old girl, and a 17-year-old boy. The murders occurred between 5:33 p.m., when he started shooting, and 5:48 p.m., when he was arrested.

He was also found guilty of attempted murder of 11 named victims and attempted murder of a group of approximately 20 unidentified individuals he fired at.

Prior to the verdict, the prosecution had requested the exact placement at the Secure Unit for the 23-year-old.

“With this verdict, a preliminary legal conclusion has been reached for the shooting incident at Field’s just over a year ago. However, it must not be forgotten that it was a day that affected many people, several of whom unfortunately still struggle with physical and psychological consequences,” said Special Prosecutor Søren Harbo from the Copenhagen Police.

The 23-year-old requested time for consideration regarding a possible appeal.
