DMI warns of cloudbursts and thunderstorms

The Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI) issued a category 1 severe weather warning on Sunday for localised cloudbursts and thunderstorms on Monday.

A frontal system will move across Denmark from the southwest from Monday morning, bringing rain and showers that could be heavy and accompanied by thunder.

Some areas could see cloudbursts bringing between 15 and 25 millimetres of rain within 25 minutes. The showers may also be accompanied by thunder and lightning.

The warning applies to the entire country except Bornholm, with warning periods between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. on Monday, varying slightly from region to region.
