61 cyclists fined for running red light near Copenhagen school

Copenhagen Police fined 61 cyclists for running a red light during a targeted traffic operation near Skolen i Sydhavnen on Wednesday morning.
The operation was carried out by the traffic police and local officers. The 61 cyclists who were stopped each received a DKK 1,000 fine for cycling through a red light.
Two people were also charged with using a handheld mobile phone, while four cyclists were charged with riding on the road instead of using the cycle lane.
Copenhagen Police regularly carry out traffic operations near schools across the city in an effort to make routes to and from school safer.
