Looking for something to do in Copenhagen this weekend? From a convention dedicated to gaming and geek culture to experimental sound art, film music in Tivoli and late-night jazz, there is plenty happening across the capital on Saturday and Sunday.

Here are four events taking place this weekend.

NørdCon 2026 brings gaming and geek culture together

Board games, role-playing games, cosplay and video games are all on the programme when NørdCon 2026 takes over Hafnia-Hallen this weekend.

The two-day convention offers activities and tournaments covering tabletop miniature games, board games, role-playing games, card games and video games.

Visitors can also explore comics, exhibitors, cosplay and competitions, while more than 100 stalls will be selling both new and second-hand items.

NørdCon takes place at Hafnia-Hallen, Julius Andersens Vej 6 in Copenhagen SV, on Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 August from 9:55 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Sound art rises from beneath Frederiksberg

Solbjerg Plads in Frederiksberg provides the unusual setting for WELLS, a free sound art festival on Saturday.

Hidden beneath the square is a special sound system consisting of 32 speakers installed in wells, allowing sound to emerge from below and spread through the urban space.

For WELLS, Danish and international composers and sound artists have created site-specific works designed especially for the system.

The festival features Randi Pontoppidan, Pauline Hogstrand, Rikhardur Fridrikson, Hans Peter Stubbe Teglbjærg, Francesco Fonassi and Jesper Pedersen.

WELLS takes place at Solbjerg Plads by Frederiksberg Main Library, Falkoner Plads 3, on Saturday 22 August from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free.

Tivoli celebrates with music from the movies

Tivoli Gardens’ youth guard, Tivoli-Garden, celebrates its birthday on Saturday with a concert dedicated to the world of film.

The programme promises a musical journey through memorable moments from the big screen, ranging from grand adventures to family favourites.

The concert will feature the Tivoli-Garden musicians as well as soloists from within its own ranks, with Peter Viggo Wegmann Stilborg Düring conducting.

The Tivoli-Garden Birthday Concert takes place at the Tivoli Concert Hall, Vesterbrogade 3, on Saturday 22 August at 3 p.m.

Saturday night jazz at Hvide Lam

For those looking to end Saturday with live jazz in intimate surroundings, Cat Pack will be playing at Hvide Lam.

The group consists of Lasse Rømer on trumpet and vocals, Ole Matthiessen on piano, Søren Anker Nielsen on guitar and Jimmi Roger Pedersen on bass. Guest musicians may also make an appearance.

The evening promises melodic swing, humour, showmanship and crooner-style vocals in one of Copenhagen’s historic pubs.

Hvide Lam was founded in 1807 and has a long association with jazz. According to the venue, its jazz tradition dates back to 1959, when Louis Armstrong occasionally joined local musicians while he was in Copenhagen for a series of concerts.

Hvide Lam is located at Kultorvet in central Copenhagen. Admission is free.
