Multi-vehicle crash on Øresund motorway

Several vehicles were involved in a traffic accident on the Øresund motorway in the direction of Sweden on Thursday afternoon. One person was reported to have suffered minor injuries.

The accident occurred at 4:17 p.m., around one kilometre from the toll station. Debris from the crash also landed on the carriageway towards Denmark, initially forcing the closure of both carriageways.

Swedish and Danish police as well as Swedish fire services attended the scene. Police advised motorists to remain in their vehicles and follow traffic updates on P4 radio.

At 5:37 p.m., both lanes towards Denmark had reopened. In the direction of Sweden, traffic was able to pass in one lane while the other was being cleared.

Motorists were urged to observe the posted speed limits, take extra care and be particularly aware of emergency personnel working on the road.
