Two men remanded in custody in methamphetamine case

Two men have been remanded in custody for 27 days in connection with a case involving the sale of methamphetamine following a police operation in Copenhagen.

According to police, one of the men was placed under surveillance on Tuesday because there was reasonable suspicion that he was acting as a so-called “white courier”. He arrived at an apartment in the Østerbro district carrying a belt bag but left the premises shortly afterwards without it.

The man was subsequently arrested, and police found a small quantity of methamphetamine and a sum of cash in his possession. A search of his residence in Copenhagen’s north-western district led to the discovery of additional methamphetamine and cash.

At the same time, another man left the apartment in Østerbro. He was arrested shortly afterwards, and police found the belt bag in his car. It contained 100 grams of methamphetamine.

According to police, the total seizure amounted to more than 130 grams of methamphetamine.

The two men, a 41-year-old Philippine national and a 28-year-old Danish national, appeared in a custody hearing on Wednesday on charges of drug trafficking. The court decided to remand them in custody for 27 days.
