A male cyclist was seriously injured on Saturday after being struck by a bus near Dronning Louise’s Bridge in Nørrebro in Copenhagen.

According to Copenhagen Police, the accident occurred at Søtorvet. The cyclist, who is a foreign tourist, was taken to hospital by ambulance and remains in a serious condition.

A police collision investigator has examined the scene, and the police have now completed their work there. Dronning Louise’s Bridge, which was closed for several hours in the direction of Nørrebro, has since reopened to traffic.

Police say the investigation is continuing to determine whether any traffic laws were violated.

The authorities in the cyclist’s home country are now being contacted so they can notify his next of kin.
