Due to the hot weather, the City of Copenhagen has decided to increase emergency preparedness on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at its most popular bathing areas. Additional lifeguards will be deployed at locations including the Sandkaj bathing zone and Amager Beach.

At the same time, the city’s Night Hosts will be staffed with additional personnel, and, as previously announced, the Harbour Hosts are already maintaining an increased presence on the water in connection with this weekend’s upper secondary school graduation celebrations.

-“We expect large numbers of people to gather by the water this weekend. That is why we are strengthening our presence both on land and on the water, so we can help ensure that Copenhagen residents and visitors can enjoy the summer in a safe and secure way,” said Shane C. Kenny, Head of the Coastal Lifeguard Service at the City of Copenhagen.

The Night Hosts are also equipped with drinking water to assist people suffering from dehydration.
