32-year-old sentenced to seven and a half years in prison for rape, robbery and extortion
A 32-year-old man has been sentenced by the Court in Holbæk to seven years and six months in prison for, among other offences, rape, deprivation of liberty, robbery, extortion and fraud.
The man was charged in several cases. In one case, he was convicted of robbing a woman in her home. He had visited the woman following an agreement for paid sexual services and, by threatening violence and referring to his connections to biker and gang environments, forced her to hand over money. He was also convicted of fraud against the woman after failing to pay for two sexual encounters.
In another incident committed two days later, he was convicted of deprivation of liberty, extortion and multiple rapes against another woman. According to the case, he had lured the woman to an address in Skamstrup for paid sexual services. Again referring to his connections to biker and gang environments, he forced her to hand over money. During the deprivation of liberty, he raped the woman four times and threatened her not to contact the police.
In addition, the 32-year-old was convicted of several robberies targeting grocery stores and a kiosk in Copenhagen, Hedehusene, Jyderup, Ølstykke and Brøndby. All offences were committed within a period of around three weeks.
Senior Prosecutor Anne-Mette Seerup said the case had painted a picture of a man who committed several serious crimes against multiple victims over a short period of time.
“I am therefore very satisfied that the court has, to a large extent, found the defendant guilty in accordance with the indictment and imposed a lengthy prison sentence,” she said.
The convicted man had been held in custody during the case and remained in custody following the verdict. He requested time to consider whether to appeal the judgment.
