FC Copenhagen had to leave Thursday’s cup final without a trophy after a narrow defeat to FC Midtjylland at Parken. The match ended 1-0 in favor of the Midtjylland side following a late goal by Han-Beom Lee.

The final was a physical contest with many duels and few major scoring opportunities. FCK did have chances to take the lead, including through Mohamed Elyounoussi and Viktor Dadason, but failed to get the ball into the net.

The second half was also delayed after fireworks were set off from the stands close to the pitch.

The decisive goal came ten minutes before full time when Han-Beom Lee headed a free-kick cross into the goal. FC Copenhagen tried to push for an equalizer in the closing stages but never truly came close.

The defeat means that the Copenhagen side finishes the season without a cup title, though the team still has the opportunity to qualify for Europe through the playoff match.
