Firefighters Respond to Series of Minor Fires
The Greater Copenhagen Fire Department (Hovedstadens Beredskab) responded to several minor fires, vegetation fires and a traffic accident during the past 24 hours. This appears in the daily incident report covering the period from Friday morning to Saturday morning.
The morning included a response to Storekær at 10:43 a.m., where smoke had developed from a rubbish bin. The fire was quickly extinguished using a handheld extinguisher.
Shortly after noon at 12:01 p.m., emergency services were dispatched to Palægade following reports of a fire in a ventilation system. A damage control service was later requested at the scene.
At 1:32 p.m., firefighters carried out inspections on Frederikssundsvej following an earlier fire. Crews conducted thermal camera measurements inside the building and also used drones for external inspections.
Later in the afternoon, a vegetation fire broke out on Selinevej, where around 300 square metres of grass and trees caught fire. The blaze was extinguished using two hose lines. Firefighters were also called to Hillerødgade, where a smaller grass fire was quickly brought under control.
In the evening at 8:58 p.m., a fire in a barbecue grill was reported on H.C. Ørsteds Vej. However, the fire had already been extinguished before firefighters arrived.
Shortly before 10:00 p.m., emergency services responded to Rosenhøj, where a container was on fire. The blaze was extinguished using a hose line. A few minutes later, a fire was reported in a public rubbish bin on Nannasgade, but the flames had also been extinguished before the fire department arrived.
During the night at 11:29 p.m., emergency services responded to a traffic accident on Murervangen. Three vehicles were involved in a minor collision, but no one was injured.
Early Saturday morning at 4:11 a.m., firefighters were once again called to a rubbish bin fire, this time at Nørrebros Runddel, where three rubbish bins were on fire.
The department also assisted Tårnby Fire Department several times during the day. At 2:11 p.m., a ladder truck was dispatched to Tunisvej, at 3:43 p.m. to Eskebøl Alle and at 4:22 p.m. to Kystvejen.
During the 24-hour period, The Greater Copenhagen Fire Department was also dispatched to a number of false and cancelled alarms. In total, 11 false or cancelled alarms were recorded.
