Two men arrested in attempted murder case in Bagsværd
The National Unit for Special Crime (NSK) has arrested two men in connection with an attempted murder in Bagsværd in January 2021. Both men are appearing today before the District Court in Glostrup in a preliminary hearing with a view to being remanded in custody.
A 47-year-old man from North Zealand has been charged with complicity in attempted murder. According to NSK, he is suspected of having made at least 40 unauthorized searches in a data system through his work at an insurance company on behalf of the now-banned Bandidos MC in Denmark.
According to the police, the searches took place from January to March 2021 during a violent conflict between Bandidos MC in Denmark and a rival gang. NSK believes that the information was passed on for use in the gang’s activities during the conflict.
The case is linked to an attempted murder on 13 January 2021 in Bagsværd, where, according to the police, a member of Bandidos MC in Denmark fired six shots at a civilian who was apparently mistaken for a member of the rival gang. The victim was in critical condition but survived after emergency medical treatment.
The 47-year-old is charged with having enabled the attempted assassination to take place.
NSK also states that one member of Bandidos MC in Denmark has received a final conviction in the case, while four others have appealed the district court’s ruling to the High Court.
On Thursday morning, a 36-year-old man was also arrested. He has been charged with attempted murder for his role in the planning and preparation of the attempted killing. According to the allegations, the 36-year-old, who was a member of Bandidos MC in Denmark at the time of the offence, sent the address of the later victim to other members of the gang.
NSK Deputy Chief Superintendent Lars Feldt-Rasmussen said in the press release:
“We at NSK maintain a strong focus on taking action against facilitators of serious crime, particularly violent crime that endangers lives. I therefore strongly warn against becoming involved in any way with individuals in the organised criminal environment.”
The prosecution will request closed doors during the preliminary hearing in consideration of the ongoing investigation.
