Man in his 30s dies following police operation – DUP investigates the case
A man in his 30s was found unresponsive in an apartment in Hedehusene on Saturday, after police were present shortly after 9 a.m. in connection with an operation.
The police initially made contact with the man through a door, but when they gained entry, he was found unresponsive. First aid and CPR were administered until ambulance personnel took over treatment.
The man was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly before 12 noon.
The case has been handed over to the Independent Police Complaints Authority (DUP), which confirms that it is now investigating the course of events, as is standard procedure in cases involving a death where a person has been in police custody.
Once the investigation has been completed, the Police Complaints Authority will submit a report on the case to the Public Prosecutor in Copenhagen.
