Two arrested and charged with murder in Randers

East Jutland Police have arrested a 30-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman, both charged with the murder of a 60-year-old man in Randers NV.

Police received a report on Wednesday at 12:02 p.m. that the 60-year-old had been found dead in his apartment on Fenrisvej. According to police, there were several suspicious circumstances surrounding the death, prompting technical examinations and a larger investigation.

Later Wednesday evening, the 30-year-old man was arrested, and during the night leading into Thursday, the 34-year-old woman was also arrested. Both arrests took place at addresses in Randers.

According to Chief Investigator Flemming Nørgaard, extensive investigative work still lies ahead, including further technical examinations, interviews, and the collection of relevant video material. In this connection, police are seeking witnesses who may have made observations in the area around Fenrisvej from Tuesday evening to Wednesday midday.

It has not yet been decided whether there are grounds to bring the two suspects before a judge in a preliminary hearing with a view to pre-trial detention. East Jutland Police state that, for investigative reasons, they have no further comments on the case at this time.
