Social Democrats Present New Immigration Policy Proposal

The Social Democrats (Socialdemokraterne) are presenting a new immigration policy proposal today.

The announcement will take place at a press conference later this morning.

The party’s leader and Prime Minister, Mette Frederiksen, wrote on Facebook on Monday:

“Socialdemokratiet stands firm in defending a strict Danish immigration policy. We have demonstrated this for seven years — both when we had a purely Social Democratic government and now with the SVM coalition government.”

She continued:

“Immigration policy is founded on a broad majority. Both among the public and in Parliament. And that will continue to be the case after the next election.

“Most parties now acknowledge that the number of immigrants has an impact on integration.”
