63-year-old charged after train accident near Bjerndrup
A 63-year-old man has been charged in connection with a train accident that took place near Bjerndrup between Tinglev and Kliplev on Friday, 15 August last year.
One person was killed in the accident, two people were seriously injured and 22 passengers were hurt. There were around 100 passengers on board the train.
The charged man was the driver of the slurry transport vehicle that collided with the train.
According to the police, the investigation has led to grounds for charging the 63-year-old with negligent manslaughter, negligent bodily harm and causing danger intentionally. In addition, he has been charged with violating the Road Traffic Act by failing to exercise sufficient caution when crossing a railway crossing.
Police state that the investigation is continuing and, for reasons related to the case, the Police have no further information.
