Multiple callouts for Copenhagen emergency services
According to the duty log covering the shift from Sunday morning to Monday morning, The Greater Copenhagen Fire Department (Hovedstadens Beredskab) responded to a number of incidents across the Greater Copenhagen area over the past 24 hours.
On Sunday afternoon at 2:29 pm, emergency services were called to Arne Jacobsens Allé, where a person had become trapped in a machine. The individual was freed using hand tools and subsequently handed over to the Emergency Medical Services. Just minutes later, at 2:35 pm, a report was received from Tranumparken concerning smoke in an apartment, which upon inspection was found to be caused by cooking fumes.
Later in the day and evening, several callouts were related to cooking. At 6:40 pm on Borups Allé and at 6:56 pm on Georg Brandes Plads, emergency crews were dispatched to apartments with activated smoke alarms, both incidents caused by cooking fumes. At 7:03 pm, again on Georg Brandes Plads, a false alarm was triggered by heavy steam and fumes. A similar situation occurred at 9:50 pm on Nyvej, where a smell of smoke in a stairwell was also traced back to cooking.
At 6:59 pm on Sunday evening, a minor fire was reported in a tumble dryer on Øster Farimagsgade. The fire was extinguished using a high-pressure hose, and a subsequent inspection of the ventilation system revealed no issues. The scene was then handed over to the police.
At 8:33 pm, emergency services responded to Ørestads Boulevard, where a water leak had occurred in a building. The water spill was stopped and the damage limited, after which the case was handed over to the residents, who arranged for a plumber themselves.
Late Sunday night at 11:25 pm, a small kitchen fire broke out on Skarøgade. The fire had been extinguished before emergency crews arrived, but an inspection was carried out and gas and electricity supplies were shut off. One person was handed over to the Emergency Medical Services, and the scene was subsequently transferred to a damage restoration company. Shortly afterwards, at 11:39 pm, absorbent material was deployed on Brohusgade following a minor diesel spill.
During the night into Monday, callouts continued. At 3:30 am, emergency services were sent to Skolesiden, where a confirmed fire alarm led to the discovery of a small fire in a residence. The fire was extinguished, and the scene was handed over to both a damage restoration company and the police. At 3:51 am, a report from Humletorvet concerned a fire alarm that turned out to be a false alarm, triggered by heavy tobacco smoke close to a detector.
