37-year-old man charged with homicide committed at asylum centre

A 37-year-old man has been charged with homicide following a stabbing at Holstebro Asylum Centre in the summer of 2025.

A 32-year-old man died during the night of 12 July after being stabbed at some point between approximately 12:45 a.m. and 1:11 a.m. at the asylum centre on Nybo Bakke in Holstebro.

Shortly afterwards, the 37-year-old man was arrested and charged with homicide.

The investigation has now been concluded, and the prosecution service at Midt- og Vestjyllands Police has brought charges against the man for homicide. Both the accused and the victim were residents at Holstebro Asylum Centre.

The case is expected to be heard as a jury trial at the Court in Holstebro, but the date of the trial has not yet been set.

The accused has been held in pre-trial detention since 12 July 2025.
