Young woman subjected to assault – Police seek witnesses

Midt- and West Zealand Police are seeking witnesses in connection with two incidents in Nykøbing Sjælland, where an unknown man has assaulted women in their homes.

On 24 December at around 6:00 a.m., a 19-year-old woman woke up feeling a hand around her upper body while she was sleeping in her room. A similar incident took place on 20 December, when the woman, while sleeping together with her boyfriend, felt a hand touch her. She initially thought it was her boyfriend, but shortly afterwards heard a person leave the room. The boyfriend searched for the person without success.

During the incident on 24 December, the woman shouted, after which the unknown person ran from the scene and slammed the door.

At the same time, another incident may be related. At 4:15 a.m. the same morning, an unknown man entered through the garden gate to a 29-year-old woman who was sitting on her terrace smoking. When she saw the man, she ran into the house, and the man disappeared from the scene.

The man is described as 170–175 cm tall, wearing dark clothing with the hood pulled up, and he sniffed loudly several times.

The police are investigating the cases and encourage people who have experienced something similar in the area to contact them on telephone number 114.
