The Danish record store Record Pusher will no longer sell records by the Icelandic singer Björk.

The reason for the boycott is a post that the world-famous singer made on the social media platform X recently. In the post, Björk urges Greenland to declare independence from the kingdom and calls Denmark a “cruel colonizer.”

In her post, Björk also writes that in Iceland, people are very relieved that they broke away from Denmark in 1944.

On Facebook, Record Pusher writes about the boycott: “This is due to her statements about Denmark and Greenland, which in no way contribute positively to the current state of the realm. Her post is factually incorrect, and she creates her own reality like Trump. This post divides friends and only helps the fool on the other side of the Atlantic… goodbye Björk (waving emoji).”
