Municipality May Withdraw Support for Rebild Festival Over U.S. Participation
Aalborg Municipality may withdraw its support for the Rebild Festival if official representatives from the United States are included in the official program.
This is stated by the mayor of Aalborg Municipality, Lasse Frimand Jensen (Social Democrats), to Nordjyske.
“We still wish to mark the friendship with the United States, but we will not endorse the actions of the current U.S. administration toward the Kingdom of Denmark,” he tells Nordjyske, referring to the Americans’ repeated statements that the United States should have Greenland.
Since 1912, the United States’ Independence Day on July 4 has, with few exceptions, been celebrated every year at Rebild Bakker in North Jutland.
