Young Man Raised the Alarm After Discovering House Fire
At 3:13 a.m. on Friday, a 17-year-old man noticed smoke coming from a house on Ellegårdsvej in Gentofte while on his way home from a night out.
He immediately contacted emergency services and knocked on the door of the house, where a 44-year-old man answered and explained that he was staying at his parents’ home.
The entire first floor was in flames, but the fire department quickly brought the situation under control. According to preliminary information, the fire likely started due to a wood-burning stove that had been placed too close to furniture. Fire investigations are ongoing to determine the exact origin of the blaze.
Damage control services have been on-site throughout Friday, including covering the burned-out roof.
