A 15-year-old boy was arrested Friday morning and charged with making life threats after he allegedly appeared at an educational institution on Halmstadsgade in Aarhus N carrying a knife and pepper spray, according to East Jutland Police. The incident was reported to police at 9:18 a.m.

Several patrols were quickly dispatched to the scene, where the boy was arrested without major incident and subsequently taken in for questioning.

He will appear in a preliminary court hearing at the Court in Aarhus on Saturday morning at 8:30 a.m., charged with making threats and violating weapons and knife laws. The prosecution will request that the hearing be held behind closed doors due to the ongoing investigation.

“We take it very seriously when someone brings a knife into a public space without a legitimate purpose – in this case, an educational institution – where the 15-year-old, according to our information, also made threats against a peer,” said Chief Investigator Flemming Nørgaard from East Jutland Police.

Police are now investigating a possible link between this case and several recently reported incidents where young boys have been assaulted and stabbed. According to police, a small group of individuals may be involved in an internal conflict that has escalated into concrete and violent episodes over the past week.

Specifically, investigators are looking into a potential connection to an attack last Friday on a 17-year-old boy at a high school in Tilst, as well as an incident Sunday evening where a 15-year-old boy was stabbed and sprayed with pepper spray on Ryhavevej in Aarhus V.

Over the past week, East Jutland Police have conducted multiple interviews and held preventive conversations with the boys believed to be involved and their parents. No one has suffered serious injuries in the mentioned incidents.

Police will maintain a visible presence in the affected areas and encourage anyone with relevant information to contact them at phone number 114.
