Venstre Ready to Leave Citizenship Convention
Venstre -The Liberal Party of Denmarkis now considering withdrawing Denmark from the Citizenship Convention if the government fails to amend the convention before the next election.
This is what Venstre leader Troels Lund Poulsen says in an interview with Berlingske.dk.
He describes it as a “breakthrough” in Danish immigration policy, where convention obligations must not stand in the way of a stricter approach.
After many years of adhering to a “firm but fair” stance, Venstre now seeks to take an “extra step” – and is ready to act if changes do not materialize.
