Bandidos members found guilty of multiple attempted murders
The District Court in Glostrup (Retten i Glostrup) on Friday found several leading members of the now-banned biker group Bandidos MC guilty of an attempted murder in Bagsværd in January 2021, as well as of planning additional attempted murders and assaults in early 2021.
The case stems from a shooting on 13 January 2021, in which a 55-year-old man was struck by several bullets while walking his dog outside his home in Bagsværd. The man had no connection to gang environments and survived due to emergency medical treatment. Police had no decisive leads until March 2021, when authorities shut down the encrypted communication platform SKY-ECC and gained access to extensive material that later provided a breakthrough in the investigation.
The material led to the arrest and pre-trial detention of nine men in October 2024, eight of whom were members of Bandidos. Several of the defendants held leading roles in the organisation. Five of the men were charged with the attempted murder in Bagsværd, while all nine were charged with a number of serious offences related to a conflict between Bandidos and the gang group NNV. All pleaded not guilty, and some chose not to make any statements at all.
After 22 days of trial and extensive evidence, the jury found all five defendants guilty of the attempted murder in Bagsværd. Two men were identified as the shooters, while three were convicted of contributing to the planning. According to the court, the attack was based on a mistaken assumption that the victim had ties to NNV.
Eight defendants were also found guilty of planning another attempted murder targeting one of two young boys with links to a leading member of NNV. The attempts were not carried out because the boys could not be located. Several of the defendants were also convicted of other offences, including possession of firearms.
The final sentencing in the case is expected to be handed down on 5 December.
