Although the Conservative People’s Party (Det Konservative Folkeparti) became the largest party in Frederiksberg in Tuesday’s municipal election, the Social Democrats (Socialdemokratiet) will retain the mayor’s office.

The Conservatives (Det Konservative Folkeparti) receive 33.7 percent of the vote. The Social Democrats (Socialdemokratiet) get 20.7 percent, while the Social Liberal Party (Radikale Venstre) ends at 9.1 percent.

The Socialist People’s Party (SF – Socialistisk Folkeparti) wins 8.0 percent, the Red-Green Alliance (Enhedslisten) reaches 15.7 percent, and Venstre (Venstre – Danmarks Liberale Parti) gets 5.0 percent. The Liberal Alliance (Liberal Alliance) ends at 2.8 percent, the Danish People’s Party (Dansk Folkeparti) receives 1.4 percent, and the Moderates (Moderaterne) get 1.1 percent. The Alternative (Alternativet) wins 1.8 percent.

Smaller local lists such as the Democrats (Demokraterne), Hvid-sten Frederiksberg’s Independent Citizens’ List (Hvid-sten Frederiksbergs uafhængige Borgerliste), Citizens’ Frederiksberg (Borgernes Frederiksberg), and Ham Stokken each receive between 0.0 and 0.1 percent of the vote.

Before the final count, the distribution of seats appears to be as follows: the Social Democrats (Socialdemokratiet) get 7, the Social Liberal Party (Radikale Venstre) 3, the Conservative People’s Party (Det Konservative Folkeparti) 11 seats, the Socialist People’s Party (SF – Socialistisk Folkeparti) 2 seats, the Liberal Alliance (Liberal Alliance) 1 seat, Venstre (Venstre – Danmarks Liberale Parti) 2 seats, and the Red-Green Alliance (Enhedslisten) 5 seats.

Michael Vindfeldt of the Social Democrats (Socialdemokratiet), who sensationally became mayor four years ago in the traditionally Conservative-dominated municipality, will continue as mayor.
