Basketball: Amager comeback not enough in tight cup battle

BK Amager lost the cup match 76–83 on Saturday afternoon away against Holbæk-Stenhus in Holbæk Sportsby, where 102 spectators watched the visitors fight back several times and even take the lead during the game.

BK Amager took a brief early lead after a quick three-pointer, but the home team responded with a run that turned the period around. Score after the 1st quarter: 21–18.

In the second quarter, BK Amager found their rhythm. The visitors took the lead multiple times — including 25–21 and 29–26 — and also held a three-point advantage midway through the quarter. Toward the end, Holbæk-Stenhus answered back, and BK Amager went into halftime down by four. Halftime score: 41–37.

After the break, BK Amager repeatedly closed the gap but were unable to regain control. The difference was cut to two and four points several times before the home side closed the quarter with a small cushion. Score after the 3rd quarter: 63–59.

In the fourth quarter, BK Amager applied their strongest pressure. The visitors tied the game and briefly led 64–63, then again 66–65 and 68–67, but Holbæk-Stenhus responded immediately and pulled away in the closing minutes. A late three-pointer and free throws kept BK Amager within reach, but the home side secured the win. Final score: 83–76.
