Human Skeleton Found in Forest
A human skeleton was found on Sunday afternoon in Bukkemose Forest on Als. It is a skeleton of a human.
After the discovery, an area in the forest was cordoned off, and the National Criminal Investigation Centre, NKC, as well as forensic experts, assisted with the investigations.
On Sunday evening, the police found a wallet nearby. The wallet belongs to 58-year-old Claus Henrik Dethlefsen from Sønderborg. He was reported missing on June 25th this year and has been sought after since. The police have searched for him several times, and an investigation into the case has continued in order to locate him.
Based on initial investigations and the wallet containing identification, the police presume that the skeleton belongs to Claus Henrik Dethlefsen, who was found in the forest today. His relatives have been informed of the circumstances of the case.
The final identification will now be carried out through forensic examinations.
The investigation will continue in parallel and will, together with forensic examinations, clarify the circumstances surrounding the person’s death.
