31-year-old extradited to Denmark in case of fatal accident on Langebro

A 31-year-old man, who is charged in a case of reckless driving and negligent manslaughter in connection with a fatal accident on Langebro in Copenhagen in 2019, has been arrested in Dubai and extradited to Denmark.

This was announced by the Copenhagen Police.

The 31-year-old is accused of several charges, including reckless driving and negligent manslaughter under particularly aggravating circumstances in connection with a traffic accident on the night of July 23, 2019. He collided with several oncoming cars on Langebro at high speed and under such circumstances that a 35-year-old man lost his life.

In connection with the trial at the Copenhagen City Court in 2020, the now 31-year-old fled to the United Arab Emirates, where he has been staying since then. At the request of the Copenhagen Police, the authorities arrested the 31-year-old in Dubai for extradition so he can face prosecution.

The 31-year-old will appear in a preliminary hearing in the Copenhagen City Court on Friday morning.
