Former Police Station to be Turned into a Hotel
Until the beginning of 2024, the police’s Station City – locally known as Station 1 – was located in the building at Halmtorvet 20 in Copenhagen, but now it will be transformed into a hotel.
The Swedish property investment company Slättö purchased the nine-story building with plans to convert it into a tech-enabled lifestyle hotel under a long-term lease with the operator Bob W. The hotel will have 169 rooms.
The work is expected to commence at the beginning of next year.
The building was constructed in 1963 and designed by Frederik Bojesen. Originally, the insurance and property company August Borgen occupied the top four floors of the property. The property is also known as ‘Borgenhus’. In 1994, the police moved into the building.
