Major breakdown caused problems with payment cards
On Saturday evening, there were issues with card payments across the country.
The reason was a breakdown at Nets, which provides payment solutions to stores and restaurants, among others.
The breakdown not only affected customers in Denmark but there were also reports of issues in Norway and several other countries in Europe.
At the Great Belt Bridge, the breakdown caused problems for motorists who needed to pay to cross, resulting in long queues and extended waiting times.
According to the South Zealand and Lolland-Falster Police, a few motorists committed vandalism against some of the barriers at the site.
Around 10:30 PM, reports came in that Nets’ systems were up and running again, and it was once again possible to use payment cards.
