DMI: Risk of heavy rain showers and thunderstorms

The hot summer weather of the weekend may end with heavy rain and thunderstorms.

DMI (Danish Meteorological Institute) has issued a warning regarding a cold front heading towards Denmark from the North Sea, which could bring locally heavy showers that may result in flash floods, hail, and thunder.

DMI has issued a warning of the risk of local flash floods, hail, and thunder. The warning applies to the entire region of Zealand, Møn, Lolland, Falster, as well as Bornholm and large parts of Funen.

According to DMI’s warning, locally there could be between 15 and 25 mm of rain in 30 minutes.

The warning is in effect from Sunday evening at 8:00 p.m. until 3:00 a.m. Monday morning.
