Increase in Employment

Read Time:1 Minute, 14 Second

Employment in Denmark increased by 5,400 people in April 2025, which corresponds to a 0.2 percent increase compared to March.

The latest figures also reveal that there are now 3,055,700 employees in jobs. Since April last year, there have been 35,200 more people employed.

In the private sector, the number of employees increased by 5,200 in April, while there were 200 more hires in the public sector.

Minister of Employment Ane Halsboe-Jørgensen highlights the development as a sign of strong activity in the Danish business sector:

– “There is still great activity in our companies, and employment has once again taken a leap upwards. It is truly remarkable that the Danish business sector manages to stay strong in a turbulent global economy with constant threats of international trade wars.”

The minister also emphasizes the need for more employees and the potential in young people without jobs or education:

– “Companies still need new employees and many – including seniors – are employed and play an important role in our labor market. There is also plenty of potential in the 43,000 young people who are currently unemployed and without education. It pleases me every time companies give young individuals facing challenges the opportunity to show what they can do. I look forward to the coming years when, with our ambitious project, ‘Ungeløftet,’ we can help even more young people enter the workforce in collaboration with municipalities, companies, and the community.”
