71-year-old woman killed in Esbjerg

On Tuesday at 10:26 AM, the police received a call on 1-1-2 reporting that a resident on Kingosvej in Esbjerg had been seriously injured. A patrol was immediately dispatched to the scene, where it was discovered that a 71-year-old woman had passed away under suspicious circumstances.

Police investigations led to the arrest and charges of murder for a 55-year-old man in Vejers and an 84-year-old man in Varde. According to the police, both men are from the local area and knew the deceased woman.

On Tuesday afternoon, the police conducted investigations on Kingosvej, as well as on the golf course in Varde and an address in Vejers. This was done with the assistance of technicians from the National Criminal Technical Center (NKC) and the Institute of Forensic Medicine. Additionally, police conducted searches with canine units in several locations in the area, conducted numerous interviews in the local community, obtained video surveillance footage, and carried out other technical examinations.

The prosecution will evaluate on Wednesday morning whether the two arrested men should be brought before a court for a custody hearing.
