Police have arrested a 16-year-old girl in a case from Herning, where a teenage boy was stabbed with a knife.

Midt- og Vestjyllands Police received a call on Monday at 8:30 p.m. reporting that a 16-year-old boy had been stabbed with a knife at a tanning salon on Fruehøjvej in central Herning. The 16-year-old boy was seriously injured and was airlifted to the hospital in Skejby.

An area around Fruehøjvej was cordoned off while the police technicians and several dog patrols worked at the scene. Throughout the night, police investigators worked on the case, and several witnesses were interviewed.

In connection with the investigation, a 16-year-old girl has been arrested in the case.

“We believe she played a significant role in the assault. Due to the investigation, I can’t provide further details at this time,” said Police Commissioner Theis Thylstrup.

The initial police investigation suggests that the perpetrators intentionally targeted the 16-year-old boy. Police do not believe it was a random attack.

“Exactly what led up to the stabbing on Monday evening will be uncovered in the upcoming investigative work, but everything indicates it was a planned assault,” said Theis Thylstrup, Midt- og Vestjyllands Police.

The arrested girl is expected to be brought before the court in Herning for a remand hearing on Tuesday. The timing has not been determined yet.

The 16-year-old boy is reported to be out of danger.Translate
