Swedish man convicted for series of frauds in electronics stores
A 53-year-old Swedish man was arrested Wednesday afternoon in an electronics store at Waves in Greve, suspected of a series of frauds against several stores in the same chain across the country.
According to the report, the man had posed as a representative of various major Danish companies and had succeeded in obtaining several of the newest iPhones from stores on Zealand, Funen, and in Jutland.
The 53-year-old was detained in the store and later questioned by the police, where he admitted to the frauds. He was then taken to the police station.
He was brought before a court on Thursday, where he received an immediate sentence of 4 months in prison and deportation from Denmark with a 6-year entry ban. He remains in custody until he serves the sentence.
