Burglary at ice cream parlor – three young men arrested
A citizen reported suspicious behavior early Thursday morning around an ice cream parlor on Salonvejen in Risskov, leading to the arrest of three young men on suspicion of burglary.
Around 5:00 am, the citizen contacted East Jutland Police with information that three individuals were lurking around the ice cream parlor. A patrol was dispatched to the location, where officers found that a key box had been broken into. According to the surveillance video from the site, the perpetrators then used the key to gain entry.
Shortly after, a car with three men aged 17, 18, and 19 was stopped on Åkrogs Strandvej by a police dog patrol. The car and individuals matched the description and images from the surveillance. A witness had seen the men lurking around the area shortly before and assisted the police in locating them. The arrest took place at 5:45 am.
Upon search, the three were found in possession of cash believed to be from the burglary. In the car’s glove compartment, a key box was discovered, which is assessed to be from the ice cream parlor. Additionally, the police found balaclavas, crowbars, and disposable gloves in the car.
Furthermore, the 18-year-old was found in possession of pepper spray and was therefore also charged with violating the weapons law. The pepper spray was seized.
