The Americans are packing up in Nuuk
There will be no visit to the dog sled race or visit in Nuuk after all, when a delegation with U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance and his wife arrive in Greenland later this week.
In Nuuk, on Wednesday, the Americans loaded two military cargo planes with bulletproof cars and other equipment, which were flown to Greenland’s capital city the other day before the visit. This was reported by Sermitsiaq.
The original plans for the visit, which was described as ‘private’ but faced criticism from both Greenland’s acting Prime Minister Muté B. Egede and Denmark’s Prime Minister, Mette Frederiksen, have been changed to have the delegation instead visit the Pituffik Space Base, formerly known as Thule Base.
